Two of the places I enjoy visiting while I'm there are Wakodahtachee wetlands and Green Cay. These two areas are loaded with birds and Wakodahtachee is known for it's great numbers of nesting birds which are in great photo range. The short trees that grow out in the water in certain areas were covered in nesting Great Blue Herons, Cattle Egrets, Anhingas, Double Crested Cormorants and Wood Storks. In other areas and habitat you could find other species of Egrets and Herons nesting also.

I had located a pair of nesting Red-shouldered hawks that were nesting only about 40 feet off of the ground in a pine tree at Loxahatchee Wildlife Management Area. This area was very busy with human traffic being right next to a parking lot on the refuge. I spent several evenings there trying to get photos of the male bringing in food to the female and was finally able to capture him bringing in what I first thought was a snake but in zooming in on the creature there are tiny appendages on it, so I'm not sure of what it is. I was later able to get a few photos of a baby hawk poking it's head up above the edge of the nest as the mother feed it.
